Risk, Crisis & Safety – Disaster Management: Strategies for disaster management with emphasis on environmental science; analysis of risk factors in natural and technological emergencies; occupational safety; chemical safety; fire safety; hazardous materials and cargoes; humanitarian engineering, International & Energy Security – Hazardous Materials: International security, diplomacy, counter-terrorism measures; Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD); Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) threats; hazardous materials and critical infrastructure management; energy security in risk-prone environments; green energy production (renewables, circular economy) for resilient societies. Physical, Theoretical & Computational Chemistry: Molecular dynamics and statistical thermodynamics simulations; materials modeling and prediction of properties/behaviors. Labour Law & Occupational Safety: Legislation on occupational safety and hazardous material management; research on undeclared work and posted workers; integration with occupational health and safety (OHS) policies.
